Celebrity Summer Reading

Saw this the other day:

Not your typical source for good books to read, but here are some summer reading pics from Gwyneth Paltrow and friends:

As if we all needed more books to read... :)

  1. I finished "The Devil in the Kitchen" by Marco Pierre White over my lunch break today -- what a pleasant surprise of a book! Based on his reputation as "the enfant terrible of the kitchen," I thought this book would be even more crass than the last two. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be the tamest of the three, with White providing justification for all his crazy kitchen antics over the years, and baring his soul to show that his moments of insanity were almost always driven by a lack of confidence that stems from a whole variety of experiences, none of which include excessive use of alcohol or drugs. It's a great book, and so as not to spoil the ending, I'll just say that one feels closure and contentment upon flipping the last page. On to a collection of "how I became a cook" stories and another of Anthony Bourdain's works, all before Saturday!
